Important Debit Card Information

Important Information Regarding
Your Farmers State Bank Debit Card

Recently a small number of Farmers State Bank Debit Card holders experienced fraud against their accounts. It is possible the information was stolen from select customers’ magnetic strip on the back of the card, perhaps through the use of a skimming device (Check out http://www.fdic.gov/consumers/theft/index.html for more information about identity theft)
All of the fraudulent transactions took place out of state, primarily in Arizona and Illinois.

To help prevent fraud against additional accounts, Farmers State Bank continues to monitor card activity. Steps have already been taken to block signature-based transactions originating in Arizona and/or Illinois. Pin-based transactions will still be available.

Unfortunately, criminal activity associated with debit cards is very sophisticated. One of the best ways to guard against fraudulent activity is to monitor your own accounts continuously. You can easily accomplish this through Online Banking at www.farmerstatebank.com, using our mobile banking application, or Touchtone Banker. All of these services are available 24 hours a day.
In addition, you can always request a printout of your account transactions at any of our three locations. Please remember to contact the Bank immediately if you spot suspect transactions.

If you are going to be traveling out of the state or country, please notify the Bank (888-596-2311)prior to departure to insure that your card transactions will be processed.

We take your account security and privacy very seriously. If you have questions, please feel free to contact us.
