Event Sponsored in Part by Farmers State Bank

An Economic Update from the Federal Reserve

The Federal Reserve has been a central player in the recent US economic developments. The views and decisions of the Federal Reserve have shaped the recent recovery and impacted interest rates and inflation nationwide. Stockbridge Community Education in partnership with Farmers State Bank and the Stockbridge Area Chamber of Commerce is pleased to present an opportunity for an economic update from the Federal Reserve. Come learn the data behind the Fed’s actions, both nationally and for Michigan, specifically, and gain insight into why and how the Fed does what it does to monitor and manage economic factors.

The presenter, Martin Lavelle, is an associate economist in the Research Department at the Federal Reserve Bank of Chicago’s Detroit Branch. His research revolves around the Michigan economy and its impact on the District and national economies. In addition to his Federal Reserve work, Mr. Lavelle teaches managerial economics at the University of Michigan-Dearborn and volunteers with Junior Achievement, teaching high school students about entrepreneurship. Lavelle received his B.S. in Business and M.A. in Economics from Miami University in Oxford, OH.

In Memory

This coming Saturday, Jan. 7, I will be privileged to have the honor of giving the eulogy for one fine Christian servant, Lillian Proctor, who passed away yesterday.  I’m wondering how many friends remember Mrs. Proctor from kindergarten at Katz, church in Munith, or other contacts, and would be willing to share those memories.  I’d be thrilled to have your comments posted here or messaged to me for use this Saturday, or simply shown here to honor Lillian.
